I had high hopes for Oleander House. I liked it, just not as much as I thought I would. It's the first book in the Bay City Paranormal Investigations series. We meet Sam, who is hired to do technical work with BCPI. The group is investigating a haunting at Oleander House and things get really creepy. Some of the members experience a malevolent type spirit and they are trying to figure out what it is. Sam is gay, but is not out. He's attracted to his boss, but Bo is married with kids. However, Bo gives off mixed signals and leaves Sam wondering what is going on. Throughout the story, Sam is fighting his attraction and it starts to get a little old. This book has suspense, violence and a little gore. 3.5 stars
