Enjoyable book of short stories. The second last one was fantastic while the last one was my least favourite, but all of them were good. The world is very interesting, many nations, a wild and dangerous jungle full of monsters, and a quicksand sea. Pretty cool. It also has a diversity of characters, in that they are all different species, humans don't appear to be all that highly regarded over all and certainly are not the dominant species, which is unique and interesting. The characters we follow are men and women, multiple species, varying ages, varying classes or what passes for class in the nations, and they all have differing personalities from cowards, to determined lovers, to honour bound role models. So yeah, very diverse indeed.

I read this on a whim, the title has a colour in it, I needed a colour title for my r/fantasy bingo card, and this one caught my eye. But it's good enough with an interesting enough world that I might read more on Chilongua in future. Certainly it will go on my "to keep in mind" list.
