I'm not even a cat person, and I absolutely adored Girl with the Cat Tattoo! Two years ago, Melody's husband was shot and killed. Now, she's been having trouble finding a good man and her cat, Max, is tired of it. He wants his human to be happy, and he'd like another person around to give him attention, so Max sets out to find Melody a boyfriend. He ends up finding Joe, but things may not be as they seem with him.

Girl with the Cat Tattoo is hilarious! The POV alternates between Melody, Joe, and Max. That's right, we get the cat's perspective on events! We follow Max as he ventures out of the backyard and into the big world to find a suitable mate for his human. And we get the inside scoop on all of his plans to hook them up, break them up, and find his own missing family. It's just so much fun!

There is a minor suspense plot introduced toward the end. Max finds something in Joe's bag that he doesn't like, and then he finds Joe somewhere he shouldn't be. Joe has secrets! And it turns out that Melody's late husband wasn't killed by an intruder; something more nefarious was going on. I do have to wonder if Joe knew who Melody was when they first met though. Otherwise there's a quite large coincidence happening. Or Max is just really good at matchmaking.

If you like animals and romance, you absolutely must read Girl with the Cat Tattoo. Like I said, I'm not a cat person, but I fell in love with Max. He is the sweetest, even when he's being evil. He does it all out of love for his human!
