In Bed with a Rogue

I received an ARC through NetGalley.

I was definitely curious about what happened to Lord Thorne after he was jilted, and now I know! In Bed with a Rogue wasn't as light and fun as the first book, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. At its open, Sebastian is wasted. He's been drinking away his worries in the less than safe side of town to avoid the gossip. On his way home, he's mugged and left in the street where the widow, Helena Prestwick, finds him and offers help. Upon meeting again, Helena proposes a deal that will improve both of their situations, but it also ignites the spark of true love!

In Bed with a Rogue does have a strong central plot in addition to the romance, which is what gave it its more serious tone. Helena is recently widowed, but her late husband was no great loss. He separated her from her family and kept her locked away in Scotland. Now she has her freedom, a lot of money, and is set on tracking down her four sisters. However, no one can know about her past, since she is not a "real" lady. She enlists Sebastian's help, since she learns that one of her sisters works at a brothel and there's no way she can get in. Finding her is the key to find the other three, so Sebastian agrees as long as Helena sponsors his sister during the season and helps her find a husband. Of course, Sebastian has other motivations for wanting her near.

The romance was really sweet. I already adored Thorne from the first book and wanted to see him happy! In Bed with a Rogue takes him from jilted bachelor to wedded bliss with the woman of his dreams. There is an immediate attraction between the two, and I liked how they both just came out and said it almost right from the beginning instead of playing coy. Helena did try to keep him at arm's length, since she was scared of being dominated by a man again, but Sebastian is not like that at all. I also loved how there was no huge drama between them! They were open and honest with each other, and it really paid off in the end.

In Bed with a Rogue was great. While the tone was more serious than One Rogue Too Many, there were still some quite funny scenes. My favorite being the duel where Sebastian's sister gets to pick the weapon! There's also cameos from Anthony and Gaby which I enjoyed, too. I will most definitely be checking out Samantha Grace's other romances after this!
