Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs

Library of Souls (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, #3)

by Ransom Riggs

The New York Times #1 best-selling series.

Like its predecessors, Library of Souls blends thrilling fantasy with never-before-published vintage photography to create a one-of-a-kind reading experience.

A boy with extraordinary powers. An army of deadly monsters. An epic battle for the future of peculiardom.

The adventure that began with Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and continued in Hollow City comes to a thrilling conclusion with Library of Souls. As the story opens, sixteen-year-old Jacob discovers a powerful new ability, and soon he’s diving through history to rescue his peculiar companions from a heavily guarded fortress. Accompanying Jacob on his journey are Emma Bloom, a girl with fire at her fingertips, and Addison MacHenry, a dog with a nose for sniffing out lost children.

They’ll travel from modern-day London to the labyrinthine alleys of Devil’s Acre, the most wretched slum in all of Victorian England. It’s a place where the fate of peculiar children everywhere will be decided once and for all.

As you can tell by now, I love the first two novels of this series. Although I couldn't wait to read the final book, I'm still a little sad that it's over. Anyway, now I'm waiting for the movie to be released!
However, Ransom Riggs picked up right where he left us after Hollow City. Not only is the story exciting and thrilling. What impresses me most is his ability to paint pictures with words. Although he creates something extraordinary, something supernatural, he makes it feel real.
Another very special feature Ransom Riggs' books have to offer are photos. Not just any photos, but real and authentic old pictures he gather at flea markets and from collectors. I don't know what came first, the photos or the story, but I can only say, they work together brilliantly. The pictures are fascinating, weird and some of them downright creepy. I'm sure some parts of the story wouldn't be as capturing without the photos included!

I can only say, I loved the final installment of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Ransom Riggs created an amazing final chapter for the series. Most definitely worth a read.
