Sage's life has been simple, less complex since moving away from Fallon shortly after her mother's death. Leaving her brother Remy and Rowan behind, she's almost forgotten her Lapsus ancestry, the latest in a long line of fallen angels, or witches. But when the dark and brooding Adam knocks on her door, the past comes flooding back. Adam is a Lamia, or vampire, the natural enemy of the Lapsus and he wishes he was anywhere but watching over this witch. As a favour to her brother Remy, Adam is watching over Sage, ensuring her safety from Craven who is on the verge of discovering the key to eternal life, and Sage is the last element.
Reuniting for the cause, the group of Lamia and Lapsus' will need to put aside their differences in order to stop Craven, but what are they willing to sacrifice in order to keep the world safe?
A little over twelve months ago I discovered the Blood Crave series and the lovely Christina Channelle, and I've adored both ever since. The series follows the lives of three strong young women who are either Lamia or Lapsus, the technical term for vampires and fallen angels. Natural enemies, the two groups have a long and entwined history, and in Sage, need to come together to fight a common enemy. Craven.
There is no denying the attraction between the brooding and abrasive Adam and Sage, but neither care to admit that both mean more to one another than distaste. Adam despises witches and although beautiful, Adam believes he's fated to spend the rest of his immortal life alone. He's broken and holds onto the grief of losing the one person in his life that meant more to him than life himself, his sister. But together, he starts to realises that perhaps he is worthy of redemption. I loved Sage, her character was not only relatable, but down to earth. A bookworm by nature, she's instantly taken by Adam's cool, dark demeanor and knows she's in trouble. I loved their cat and mouse game, circling around one another until one admits their attraction to the other. Adam is dark and mysterious and I loved seeing his transformation.
Christina Channelle has left loyal fans on a series high with her Blood Crave finale. I'm sorry to have to say goodbye to both old and new favourites but looking forward to seeing what's next from her.
