How could I not grab this one and what the perfect time of year to read it. It actually started very strong but some place it just sort of fell apart.

The story opens in 1920s with two sister, a curse on their families prevent them from marrying anyone from the Goode Family. For some reason the Fear Family and the Goode Family are cursed to never marry each other, it ends in tragedy. I enjoyed this part of the story, not super creepy but really cool, I really loved how the story was being told. The story ends in tragedy and the next part opens in present day. I was liking this story a lot actually until it got to almost the end and I am not sure what the hell happened. It sort of just fell apart, like rushed and just not very exciting. It sort of just ends. I was hoping for some sort of horror cliffhanger that keeps you guessing long after you finish the book. This just sort of ends.

I didn't hate the book but I didn't love it either. I think maybe my younger self would have really enjoyed this story since this was the type of books I read when I was younger but my older self wanted a little more scare and a better ending. Overall, not a bad read for the spooky season and the story was very interesting. If you don't mind the quick wrap up at the end, I think you might actually enjoy this book.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my review.

Have a great day and Happy Reading!
