Besides the puppy with the skilled nose trained to detect changes in her owner's blood sugar, we had a grumpy hero and a fabulous heroine.
Harrison was so closed off to getting close to people, and I have to admit, after learning more about his family history, it was easy to understand. BUT, he was unable to resist the charm and persistence of Sophie. I liked her so much. She was a veritable ray of sunshine, and I couldn't help but admire her "can do" attitude. She was willing to keep plowing ahead, working on Harrison, and pushing him out of his comfort zone. It was fun to watch, and I really enjoyed them together.
I feel like maybe this series will be about finding HEAs for all Sophie's sisters, which I am totally onboard with. From the bit I got to learn about the Vasquez, they are a great bunch, and well, we are guaranteed puppies too, which is a plus, if you ask me.
