Suddenly Beautiful was really fun, and contains a few of my favorite Romance tropes. Unfortunately, it also ends with my least favorite. Nikki has been Tor's assistant for six years and is harboring a crush. Tor is practically married to his job so he barely notices Nikki until one night when someone else who has her sights on him, slips him some Ambrosia. Being a demigod, Tor is heavily affect by the drink, has an amazing night with Nikki, but doesn't remember it in the morning. Sadly, Nikki thinks he's just trying to avoid the issue, rather than actually not being sure if it really happened.

I am a huge fan of misunderstandings in romances! They just get me super involved in the story and Suddenly Beautiful is no different. I wanted to force those two in an office together, lock the door, and not let them out until they got everything off their chests! Of course, the truth does come out fairly soon (this is under 200 pages!) but that's not the only obstacle in the way of their relationship. Tor is known for not dating demigoddess, because of their manipulative nature. Nikki might be different, but it doesn't change the fact that he's more focused on business than pleasure.

I did really enjoy Suddenly Beautiful until nearly the end. I loved how the gods, goddesses, and demigods were presented, as well as their wild antics. But then somethings happens, and I just went, "Oh, no!" I hate this twist, especially when I know it's coming. I really don't want to spoil it, but I'll just say that it annoys me to no end. Plus, I'm quite certain it was a plot hole, since something was said early in the book that would have prevented this event from even happening. But it happened anyway. I could have overlooked this twist, since it's Romance and it happens, but not when it didn't fit with what was already established.
