Rescuing Bryn brings us the story of Dane, aka Fish, a former soldier who lost his arm in battle, and Bryn, a woman on the Autism Spectrum living her life in the wilds of Idaho. These two have very little in common which makes the relationship even more interesting!

Dane has come to the middle nowhere (aka Idaho) to try and get himself together. He is struggling with PTSD and other issues after losing his arm. His friend and savior, Truck, keeps in touch via phone but is worried about Dane. Then, when grocery shopping one evening, he notices Bryn. Bryn has ASD and while she is brilliant and has a couple degrees in very advanced fields of math and science, she struggles with social aspects of society. She is fascinated by Dane, but he is a little touchy when he realizes her attempts to help him.

They don't have a good first meeting but I think it was perfect and believable. You really can see the struggle Dane has with normal tasks, and you can see the struggle Bryn has with people. As they get to know each other better, you begin to see two very fascinating people! Dane is patient and supportive of Bryn, even though he doesn't always understand her obsessions. Bryn is protective and supportive of Dane without making him feel like a freak. Its an odd relationship on the outside, but its perfect!

There is a small bit at the end that has some danger and drama but overall the story is not really about that. Rescuing Bryn is focused on 2 people with differences that make them outcasts in society finding the perfect person! Stoker's books are always character driven and Bryn and Dane's story is no different! I love that Stoker touches on people who are struggling in some way-physical struggles, emotional struggles, etc. Its impossible not to love her characters!
