Dragon Reborn by Eve Langlais

Dragon Reborn (Dragon Point, #5)

by Eve Langlais

I’m not crazy. I’m a dragoness.

Deka knows she’s the center of the universe, but sometimes even the almighty sun has to act when her main squeeze disappears. Samael might not yet recognize that they’re mates.

But he will.

She won’t give him a choice. First, though, she has to find him.

An ancient enemy has captured her stud. It is going to be super dangerous getting him back. Awesome because Deka thrives on risk—and will do anything for love.

My review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at Hotlistens.com.

So, at the end of the previous book, Samael D’Ore goes missing. Deka Silvergrace is determined to find him. They meet briefly in Dragon Foretold. She knows they are mates. She won’t be without him.

Deka manipulates her family to send her to Paris so that she can continue her search there. She doesn’t hide that she is searching for him. She is quickly taken prisoner by the same people who have Samael.

There is something new in this book. The jailers are a slug-like creature. They are compared to Jabba the Hut. I found them interesting. I’m wondering what the future will hold for these guys.

This isn’t the first time that Eve Langlais has taken a villain from a previous book and turn them into a hero for a later book in the series. I have to say, she is pretty good at it. As much as you dislike Samael in Dragon Foretold, you learn to love him in Dragon Reborn (though I don’t think he compares to Gene from Polar Bared).

This series continues to be funny and suspenseful and with great banter between the characters. I’ve really enjoyed my time with the dragons. I’m thinking this is the last book in this series. But I also think that this will probably spin off into another series (like Kodiak Point and Bitten Point), though I have nothing that tells me that this, it is just a hunch.

Narration
Again, Chandra Skyye did an okay job with the narration. Male and female voices are okay. The pace and tone are okay.
