Jesus christ...this book! I was just happily reading along thinking I knew what direction this story was going to take and them...BAM...what the f-ck just happened!!?? And that is all I am going to say about that. Do yourself a favor and go into this one blind. You won't regret it.

That said, this lost two whole stars because the "holy shit" twist(s) morphed into three of the things I hate most in my romance books not to mention the last 30% of the book felt a little too over the top in the drama...sigh. If you want to know more feel free to message me.

Even with those things this book was still good. Tina Saxton is a "new to me author" and one who I will for sure be keeping my eye on to see what she has up her sleeve next. The writing was fantastic. It was very well paced. The plot was engaging. It had twists and turns. The sex was hot. The first 60% was pretty much angst-free, the last 30% was crazy angsty and bordered on ridiculous (IMO). There was an excellent cast of secondary characters. Both Ellie and Kase were very likable main characters; Last, it was all wrapped up in a satisfying ending.

So yea, overall it was a good read. The first 60% was undoubtedly 5-Star material. I just don't think we needed everything but the kitchen sink thrown in for the last 30%. It took SO much away from the connection Kase and Ellie had. Especially the one thing that completely turned me off, and honestly, I didn't think it was a necessary addition AT ALL. What can you do?
