Lacy, the main character, was larger-than-life. She was bold, sassy, impulsive and tender-hearted. Though the story was not told in the first person, I was Lacy for the time I was reading the book. Her adventures as she impetuously followed the Lord’s command into the small town of Mule Hollow, Texas were filled with laughter and sparks.
The author had great descriptions, fun puns and heartfelt messages in this light-hearted yet emotional journey that left me feeling like I wanted to do a victory dance at the end. And I don’t do victory dances. Ever!
