Looking at this cover, I did NOT think this would be a YA story, which is why I held off reading it for so long. I love, LOVE Ee's Angelfall trilogy. Seriously, it is one of maybe 2 or 3 series I have reread in its entirety. So I was happy when I realized this was a YA. I think maybe the short story/novella length just didn't hook me in as much. There isn't anything inherently wrong with this story, just maybe the format wasn't for me? I didn't feel like we get to know the characters very well, other than Cinder, and even she still felt a bit flat at the end.
