Life is delicious in the town of Chewandswallow where it rains soup and juice, snows mashed potatoes, and blows storms of hamburgers--until the weather takes a turn for the worse.
I used this book in my classroom for story elements (character, setting, plot). My students really enjoyed the book, especially since the majority of them are familiar with the animated film (that's completely different, but that's another story...).
I used this with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. We only did story elements, as I stated, but I feel like this story would make an excellent prompt for creative writing practice on up to 5th grade.
