This was a sweet story about second chances.

Alicia was an amazing daughter, giving up her life and career dreams to help her mother who had sunken into depression and hoarding.  Just the idea of living in that house with her mom gives me the shudders!

Jeff was the clueless ex-best friend who had broken Alicia's heart and then disappeared from her life.  Realizing the way he had lost out on an amazing friend and regretting it terribly, he was thrilled to have her return home and set out out to win her heart back.  I loved the way he stood with Alicia through some tough situations.

I think my favorite character, though, was Beth, Jeff's mom.  She was kindness itself in the way she interacted with Lila and helped her.
