I love the concept of magic having a cost. This issue explores that a bit, but if I’m being honest it did so in a way that I could never have predicted. I’m not sure I love it, but I’m willing to see where it leads at least.
There were some funny moments in this issue, and it was great seeing that Strange has learned not to be overly reliant on magic. I feel like if there’s anything he’s learned in the past few years, it’d be that.
I’ve never felt particularly threatened by the comic version of Dormammu. I don’t know…it just feels like something is missing. That being said, I feel like (spoiler warning) this issue took that a step farther – the lack of him feeling threatening, that is. Not so much for the others of his kind though. I almost feel bad for Dormammu now.
