I found Angel Valence a struggle to read at the start, the beginning was very slow and I almost gave up on it to be honest, but there was light because as the story progressed it got more interesting and picked up pace. The book is based around a single mother Ineke Valence who is also known as The Angel of New York, but people do not know she is both of these people. She trained as a Russian Spy and that has made her great at being The Angel and she manages to keep both role separate. Being The Angel is risky she is hired for different dangerous jobs probably as the law think she is male. Her job gets riskier when things are so close to home and her child.
When I started reading this book I was considering giving it just 2 stars but as it progressed I ended up liking it a lot. It is a fairly large book at 555 pages but to get everything that needs to be in the book to get it right it needs to be that long.
I really enjoyed it.
