I Only Have Eyes for You by Bella Andre

I Only Have Eyes for You (The Sullivans, #4)

by Bella Andre

"Sophie Sullivan fell head over heels for Jake McCann at the age of five. Twenty years later, the notorious bad boy still sees her as the 'nice' Sullivan twin. When they both get caught up in the magic of the first Sullivan wedding, she knows it's time to make him see her for who she truly is-- the woman who will love him forever. Jake has always been a magnet for women, but the only woman he really wants is the one he can never have. Not only is Sophie his best friend's off-limits sister-- he can't risk letting her get close enough to discover his deeply hidden secret. But when Sophie appears on his doorstep, Jake's every fantasy comes to life, and he doesn't have a hope of taking his eyes, or hands, off her. Jake knows loving Sophie isn't the right thing to do, but one look at her and he knows he can't possibly resist" -- from publisher's web site.

I have adored Sophie since book one. It’s not hard to like her, she is a librarian after all, and we both share a passion for books. Nicknamed, “Nice” her extra protective brothers have kept her shelter, especially from men like Jake, but Sophie knows what she wants. Jake has had a hard life, and struggles with secrets despite his success. The man is so sweet and sexy. It broke me that he didn’t feel he was fit to wipe the dirt from Sophie’s feet. Watching this relationship unfold, and seeing them overcome complications had me laughing and sighing. Of course other Sullivans’ are present and it was nice seeing them interfere as I got updates on all my other book boyfriends.

I know I have said this before but Bella Andre has a gift for making you fall for her characters. I loved that she did a friendship to love romance it is one of my favorite tropes. We get flashbacks from when they were kids and I loved those glimpses into the past. In I Only Have Eyes For You, the couple face a few challenges, and Jake reveals some secrets about himself and his past. It was wonderful watching these two discover each other, and the heat..oh my! Andre, provided just enough details to curl my toes, and make me fall in love with an Irish pub owner. At the end of the book we are privy to a conversation between the last single Sullivans’ and I cannot wait for If You Were Mine which will give us Zack Sullivan’s story.
