Up until now I was curious, but still feeling a bit ‘meh’ about Killmonger’s series. This issue though? It full on drew me in. By the time the issue was over I caught myself theorizing what was going to happen next – something I only do when I’m really invested in a series.
The fight scene at the beginning of this issue certainly didn’t hurt things. (Spoiler warning) A younger Killmonger versus a fully realized Bullseye? It almost doesn’t feel fair. But it sure was great to watch. It was almost over too quickly…but then again it being set in the past they are somewhat limited in what the characters would be allowed to do to each other, so it makes sense.
I wasn’t expecting all of the emotional twists or the politicking that came after the fight. It was really well done, and I have so many theories about what is going to happen next. I have no idea if any of them are right, but at least I care enough to try and guess. I can’t wait for the next issue to come out (even if I do have a bad feeling about a few particular points).
