The White Road by John Connolly

The White Road (Charlie Parker, #4)

by John Connolly

In South Carolina, a young black man faces the death penalty for the rape and murder of Marianne Larousse, daughter of one of the wealthiest men in the state. It's a case that nobody wants to touch, a case with its roots in old evil, and old evil is private detective Charlie Parker's speciality.

The characterisation was not quite as strong in this one, and the end saw some conveniently tied loose ends, but despite this it was still a fantastic book, full of dark twists and turns that you can lose yourself in.
