Captain Marvel: Higher, Further, Faster is a fun and quick-paced listen, and I managed to listen to most of it in one sitting. Captain Marvel is one of my favorite characters in the MCU, so I was excited to check out this sort-of prequel, and I wasn’t disappointed.

While geared towards younger readers, it’s still an entertaining story for older fans of Captain Marvel, and it spans her entire first year at flight school. Her determination to succeed is evident throughout the story, and her growth from stubborn and reckless to focused and successful was rewarding.

I enjoyed her blossoming friendship with Maria Rambeau, as well as her relationships with various other classmates. All of the secondary characters had distinct personalities, which is quite an achievement considering how many there were.

I’m also glad I listened to the audiobook version instead of reading it as I really enjoyed Sarah Mollo-Christensen’s narration.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this to fans of Captain Marvel, regardless of age, but especially for younger readers.
