I haven't read a Beverly Preston book before, but I have to tell you....I'm sold! I will say, this review is going to be somewhat vague because I don't think I can put into words exactly how I felt about this book and don't want to run this risk of spoiling the story...because you need to read this yourself to understand.

This book ran the gamut of emotions. In the telling of JC's story, we find out what the definition of surviving broken is. The first half of the book isn't easy to read and will have you want to curl up in a ball, but when JC meets Reed, she begins the journey of healing from what she's been through. I don't want to say more, because what happens to JC is something the reader needs to experience for themselves right along with JC.
Reed is yummy and to die for. His Texas drawl, his empathy and the way he helps JC move forward will absolutely having you falling for him...and falling hard.

For someone who came into this fourth book not sure what I was getting into, I can tell you it can be read as a standalone. But I will warn you, like me, you'll be going to your nearest bookseller to get the other books in this series. It's everything I look for in a book and one I'm absolutely happy to have had a chance to read.
