The premise behind this book intrigued me--late term abortions being saved by a few sympathetic medical staff members in the late 1970's. Despite the the author having a J.D., the lack of detail about the laws surrounding late term abortions and resulting legal implications the would result from the rescue of the children is glossed over. Even the religious side of the issue is glossed over. There is no debate. There is no argument for or against what was done to the 4 women and 4 children affected by actions of the medical staff. And as a result, the novel falls flat and reads a bit like a Lifetime Movie, where everything is wrapped up in a neat, tidy box at the end and everyone lives happily ever after
