Sentinel is the final book in the Covenant series, and sadly it didn't deliver. It wasn't that it was terribly written or the storyline horrific, but I could have been mistaken that I've read this all before. A more significant battle, but the same players and same scenarios with the same over explained descriptions. The series begun so promising, but each book has become more sexually charged, so that Sentinel is now foremost a horned up kiss fest with a touch of the paranormal fantasy. Blink and you'll almost miss it. Alex was once a tough, sassy chick with attitude and a killer fighter, now she just seems as thought she's just smartassed and sexed up. The intimate scenes felt like fillers and I needed more action, more killing and the humour has completely vanished. It seems the quickest way to kill a series, is to allow the main character to fall in love with a impossibly handsome young guy with no personality, liquid silver eyes and to get it on. I wanted to love it, but I just couldn't.
