This book picks up with Pepper and the gang two months after the last book ended. Pepper and Jace a ready to take their relationship public and the spring sports season is about to start. All of this, puts Pepper into a funk. There is the backlash that someone has tamed Jace, and there is the hype that accompanies being a national title holder. We follow Pepper as she tries to wade through all these new feelings and situations.

Pepper's trials and tribulations are always entertaining and I enjoy reading about her, her friends and her family. I love seeing how she influences Jace's life and how he is so different around her. I also loved learning more about their families and some more background. It can be tricky, merging social groups and trying to integrate friends, but in the end, they all end up being there for each other. They have a nice little community of friends to rely on, and the change in their family dynamic was also interesting.

I feel like Pepper grew quite a bit in this book and changed for the better. She showed a lot of maturity in some tough situations. I hope to read more about her soon.
