It is no easy feat to create a modern narrative encompassing a series of Celtic myths, but Ms. Gadd sure pulls it off. Though I did have trouble keeping track of names at times, (which was likely more about how bad I am with names + the sheer number of characters that are integral to the plot) this undertaking managed to engage me in a story I previously knew nothing about, and I gloried in the victories and agonized in the defeats of our this pantheon. My only request would be that the glossary of names be in the front, so I could take peeks, despite the fact that any confusion was quickly corrected within a paragraph or two. Either way, a fun and fast read that left me wanting to search for more about these intriguing characters.
