I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing how the sequel is in comparison. While it does tie up some loose ends, it leaves other unresolved questions burning in your mind long after the book is done, which is exactly what I look for in a series.
With the combination of magical creatures and magic itself in the novel you're left wondering what's going to happen next. The characters are engaging, the history interesting and the passion sizzling. Not to mention the children are freakin' adorable!
Easy 5/5 stars!
