Okay ... I REALLLLLLLLY wanted to love this book especially since I'm such a fan of Rachel's book. And Dirty Exes was such a great book and I absolutely loved it. There were some things that became a little bit too much for me and I couldn't quite connect with Isla and Jessie. However, I was very happy that they both got their happy ever afters! And I'm still forever a fan of Rachel's book, so don't let this ONE review make you think otherwise.
After finishing Dirty Exes I kind of knew how this one was going to go especially since Jessie was sure to seek his revenge. And that little bit had me on edge the entire time because I knew it wasn't going to end well at all. I didn't agree with his little plan, not like Isla and Blaire were that much better (that's a different story on its own since I think he pushed all his anger towards the wrong person ... but that's just me). So that little bit didn't put any kind of halo over Jessie.
And little did he know who he was messing with. Even though I may not have connected with Jessie or Isla, I did love how fierce and proud of everything she has built with her company. This company is her baby and damn anyone who would try to take it away for her. And there's where I admired her the most, she never tucked tail when Jessie kept throwing daggers her. She's a fighter for sure.
I was pretty eager to see how things would end up between them, of course, it's a happily ever after. But we all saw from a mile away that something bad was going to happen especially the more fire they threw at each other, the passion was rising between them and the tables were turning. Feelings were bound to get hurt and I definitely wasn't looking forward to that downfall.
Even though I didn't love this book as much as I wanted, Rachel is still one of the most amazing writers ever. She'll keep you hooked and make you want to keep reading to the very end. If you haven't read this series yet, start it off with Dirty Exes and definitely give this one a try, it could definitely be up your alley!
