The fifth volume of MHA has the second half of the UA games in it. This is the part where all of the individual fights occur, for better or for worse.
I have a lot of opinions on the fights on the whole, but they might be considered spoilers, so consider yourself warned? I don't think Bakugo did himself any favors in his first fight, though Todoroki obviously did just fine. Iida got played hard, which he probably should have seen coming, but at least it didn't cost him anything other than his dignity. I have issues with the guy that Deku faced, but most of them are because of how he got teammates for the second challenge. I think it was unethical and not very hero like. Other than that issue though, I think this character did a good job of showing the general bias that UA has for physical fighters for heroes. I wonder if that is more balanced at other schools?
I could keep going on, of course. But I don't want to talk about the later fights too much, just in case.
