One King's Way

by Samantha Young

The New York Times bestselling author of On Dublin Street returns to the bar where it all began with Braden and Joss for a white-hot new novella full of passion and drama.

When he's not working at the club, Craig Lanaghan looks out for his mother and little sisters. So when it comes to women, all he wants is a good time. But once Rain Alexander walks into his life, there's no denying that this woman could be worth much more than a one-night stand . . .

Rain's lifelong regret is having left her sister Darcy alone years ago with a guardian who turned out to be abusive. So when Darcy's boyfriend publicly humiliates her in a cruel way, Rain's overprotective instincts kick in and she follows him to Club 39 - where she meets a guy who just might be her perfect match.

The chemistry between Rain and Craig is explosive, but Rain is out for revenge, and refuses to be sidetracked by flirtation. As things between them heat up, she'll have to make a heartbreaking choice between giving in to the man of her dreams or putting her sister's happiness first . . .

I was delighted to get Craig's story, behind his easygoing smile and flirtatious attitude there is such a sweet, caring man. Craig sacrificed a lot to take care of his Mother and two sisters. He isn't one to turn down a good shag, but has always been upfront about his no strings policy. While he is envious of Braden and his relationship with Joss he really doesn't think he is ready to find the one...that is until a 1940's pin-up girl named Rain Alexander walks into the bar. Rain is unique and doesn't fall all over Craig and boy is he intrigued. We get to watch them get to know each other and witness Craig was falling.

The romance had chemistry, heat and heart but as a novella it didn't allow much time for development. One King's Way was a fun romp but as often happens with novellas I wanted more. I did have a good laugh though, particularly when Rain and Craig take his sister to lunch..oh man I would love a book based on his sister. Even though the tale was short, Young still managed to give me the feels. Craig's fall was delightful to watch and how he came to realized his feelings for her was so romantic.

One King's Way was a quickly, fun, heart warming tale that offers fans a glimpse at Craig and those new to Young a little taste of her talent.
