Never His Girl is the second book in the Kings of Cypress Prep series. A dark, enemies to lovers, high school romance told in multiple first-person points of view.
West Golden (King Midas)... After spending a night together and kicking Blue out he feels horrible thanks to the feelings he has for her. After a video of them pops up on social media, thanks to secrets that need to stay hidden, he needs to stay quiet, which may just drive him insane.
Blue Riley (Southside, New Girl)... She can not understand why West kicked her out after their night together. When a video shows up on social media and she tops The Pink List, Blue is done with West and his games.
Story... No matter what West and Blue do there always seems to be something trying to keep them apart. Between videos, photos, and secrets it is hard to know who is telling the truth and who is lying. Just as things are starting to work themselves out, secrets threaten to destroy everything again.
My thoughts… Picking up right where The Golden Boys ended, things are getting more ugly at school. West had me feeling sorry for him with everything he was dealing with. Blue has proved more and more how strong she is and how much it takes to break her. There were some twists I did not expect and can not wait to see how this trilogy concludes.
Rating... 4.5 maple leafs.
