Lost in a Royal Kiss is a short and sweet prequel novella. It tells the tale of Linnet, a young woman who is running her household and taking care of her younger siblings while her mother is governess to the royal children, and Sir Anthony, a London magistrate who has had his sights set on Linnet for awhile despite her efforts to avoid him. It also includes the story of Dominic, an orphan being raised by the royal family, and his best friend Chloe. Dominic and Linnet witness the aftermath of something horrible happening to Chloe, and she immediately seeks the help of Anthony. He agrees to deal with the situation and take Dominic in. From there, he and Linnet have a few accidental run ins which happen to end with passionate kisses.
I thought Lost in a Royal Kiss was cute, but it's nothing special. The whole Dominic/Chloe plot felt disconnected from the Linnet/Anthony romance, so that was a bit unfortunate. While I wasn't fully engaged in that plot, I did really enjoy the romance. Being so short, there's not a lot of tension or drama, but they also don't get their happily ever after right away. It does come though, and everything is good.
