I'm all for a teenage Bonnie and Clyde story, but I felt like there was something missing from the story. Having finished it, I still can't put my finger on it. Maybe it was not being able to fully connect with the characters. These kids dealt with some pretty horrible stuff, but it was almost like they were normal teens until it all went to hell and they were on the run.
