Harper had wanted to be a singer from a very young age but felt it would never happen. Her mother was a drug addict who treated her abusively more veribly than physically. Once Harper went to live with her grandparents things started getting better she finished school, graduated college and moved to LA to pursue her musical career. She was paired up with Chad to keep them both in the gossip mags. Neither of them felt much for each other, sex maybe but nothing else though when Harper walks in on Chad and another female having sex she becomes irate and does somethings that will backfire on her. She finds herself hiding out at her grandparents house (she inherited when they died) from the photogs while things settle down. The house has been shut up for years and it needs some repairs for it to be liveable her Dan a friend (she has not seen for 6 years) is a contractor and she hires him to do the repairs. Both find themselves attracted to the other but not sure where to go with it, Dan does not want his heart broken again by Harper and she does not want a relationship. This story was very well written and a joy to read. I loved the storyline and characters. Look forward to more books by this author. This book was reviewed by a member of the review staff at Cocktails and Books. The name of the reviewer can be found under the post categories.
