Book 1
On the hundredth anniversary of being turned into a vampire, Edith joins her adopted daughters and their friends at the Heartsong Clan’s annual "vampires vs humans" LARP recruitment event where she meets an eager Dan Paxton.
Dan’s older brother and vampire hunter, Darren, thinks he is merely chaperoning a trip to a nerd convention, but when Darren discovers Dan missing, he follows the only lead he has to the Heartsong Clan’s residence on Tombstone Row. He’s determined to keep his Hunter instincts in check, rescue his brother, and make a clean escape.
When an impromptu late-night encounter leads Darren and Edith to be honest with each other about who and what each of them are, Edith longs to keep Darren and his brother close, even though it goes against Clan rules. The two start to grow closer as they seek out the truth from Edith’s Sire, Mr. Heartsong, and soon Darren is finding it harder than he thought to snuff out Edith and her family.
Book 2
Six weeks after Edith and her vampire family were exiled from their clan, Darren waits at the rendezvous, poised for a reunion that might never come. With every passing day, his hope of ever seeing the vampire who showed him what it means to be human again dwindles.
On the run from Hunters and her own clan alike, Edith strives to protect those in her care, all the while fighting to get back to Darren and the family she’d long dreamed of. But even when their paths do cross again, reunion comes at a cost.
When Mr. Heartsong brazenly declares war on all humanity, allegiances will be tested. Will Edith side with the man she’s come to believe may be her destiny or the creator who gave her a second chance at life?
Book 3
Three months after Mr. Heartsong lit the match that ignited the second Vampire-Human Civil War, Darren and his team of Hunters are doing all they can to combat a vicious enemy. But even with Edith and her daughters firmly on their side, the humans face overwhelming odds and not everyone comes back unscathed.
The heat of battle forces Darren and Edith to confront the reality of their tenuous romance: she's immortal and there's no chance he'd let her turn him. Fighting the fear of losing everyone she loves is harder than taking out her own kind with a ballpoint pen.
As the ultimate battle looms, fate comes calling. To win the war, Darren and Edith will have to leave everything on the line. Even if that means making the ultimate sacrifice for the good of human kind.
