King Lear splits his kingdom between his daughters but when his favourite, Cordelia, is too honest with him she is banished. Her two sisters gain the kingdom and their greed leads to their destruction. Meanwhile the Earl of Gloucester’s youngest son, Edmund, tricks his father into thinking his eldest son, Edgar, is trying to kill him, which leads ultimately to destruction.
