The authors explain the broad concepts of astronomy before describing what may be seen with the naked eye and through a pair of binoculars or small telescope, suc h as planets, comets, galaxies and nebulae. They go on to explain cosmological theories such as the "Big Bang", the expanding universe, and the possibility of life elsewhere.
