Skills for Practice S.

Book 1
This is the first text in the "Skills for Practice Series" edited by Sally French and Jo Laing. These texts deal with contemporary issues in Therapy Practice. Over recent years, therapists and therapy students have become more involved in research. The need to justify professional practice and demonstrate the efficiency of clinical intervention has become more important as health care practice and the use of resources has come under closer scrutiny. This book provides a broad and practical account of the many research methods and approaches available to therapists, ranging from the highly structured and quantitative to those which are qualitative and open ended. Ethical issues, statistics, writing research proposals and reports, and the dissemination of research findings are also discussed. The book is referenced for those therapists requiring more detailed information.
