More and more everyday devices such as cash registers and anti-lock brakes are being fitted with embedded computers. This book provides a overview of embedded computer systems - at systems, hardware and software levels - using Intel components as design examples. After a brief introduction, the book examines the software and hardware design issues involved in embedded systems. The author cites a number of design examples, but has endeavoured to keep theories and equations down to a minimum. One of the most useful features of the book is its coverage of 32-bit devices.
