Modern enterprise networks allow information to be automatically distributed (workflow computing) and to be accessed by multiple operators using a variety of platforms and protocols (workgroup computing). This text shows how to implement and use this architecture to enhance productivity. Using extended real-world scenarios from workflow, workgroup and combined paradigms, it provides a step-by-step discussion of applications development, with a focus on forward-looking platforms. A survey of off-the-shelf groupware products and services is also included.
