This work examines many of the challenges confronting Europe as it begins a new era. Currently, the countries of Central and Eastern Europe are struggling to build market economies and multi-party democracies, and the European Community is divided on the future course of integration. The author of the book develops a series of policy recommendations to address these challenges.
