This collection of scripted and unscripted dramatic pieces is designed as a resource that will enable primary teachers to find just the right material for dramatic purpose, theme and age group. The pieces include verse and prose, scripted playlets, selections from longer works, scenarios for role play, ad lib and mime, performance pieces, dialogues and choral works. The plays are organized thematically and, within themes, by age groups. Most of the pieces are designed for small group or class work and need little equipment. Selections reflect a multi-cultural society, a mixed ability group and gender balance. An index to enable quick cross-referencing for theme, age group, number of characters and curriculum areas where relevant is also included. Alan Brown taught as a supply teacher for many years in primary schools and now combines that with working as a technical author and developing his career as a writer for children.
