On the 300th anniversary of the consolidation of the metaphysical system of Leibniz in the Discours de metaphysique and the ensuing correspondence with Antoine Arnauld, it seemed fitting to reexamine the interaction of scientific and philosophical thought in the work of this great systematic thinker.
