How do the various forms of media work? How are they put together and how are they delivered to us, the consumers? This book looks at the movie industry and at the labour-intensive but fascinating process of making a feature film. It examines each stage in the production of a film, from inital idea through to the final cut and screening, and highlights the main activities that take place along the way. The book not only looks at the work of prominent people in the film world, such as directors and actors, but also describes the equally important but less high profile contributions of the gaffer, best boy and key grip.
