The principles of palmistry may even pre-date Aristotle. But it is the current quest for fresh explanation of personality traits, and of future individual potential and life patterns, as well as an intrigue for the inexplicable and the unorthodox, that has seen a fresh growth of interest in recent years. Can the line on a hand be as distinctive and pertinent as a fingerprint? Can a knowledge of how to interpret these lines provide a valid insight into, or life guidance for, the owner? With his noted ability to explain his topic without recourse to jargon or undue complexity, Peter West guides the reader to a broad awareness of 'the message of the hands'.

Astrology and Childhood

Astrology has been used for advice and inspiration for many aspects of daily life, by those who have a devout belief in its values and others who view is as an additional source of guidance. Parenting may be the most taxing work we ever undertake, and there are few who would not accept extra help in coping with its challenges. Astrology can play a part. The influence of an astrological sign is there from birth; it does not increase with maturity, so a parent can see what to expect in an Aries baby, be shown the probable character traits in their Gemini child, or assisted in teaching a Piscean. This may not be a traditional parenting guide, but it is a valid alternative that will serve a great purpose for mothers and fathers around the world.
