The Act Now series has established itself as the definitive vehicle for youth drama. This play has been adapted for the series by the author from his script for a BBC Play for Today. It deals with the day in the life of a group of young people and the musical, social and political influences on their lives. They face considerable psychological and physical violence, but the philosophy of hope wins through in the friendship of Billy, who is of mixed race, and the crippled Adrian, who is taken under Billy's wing.
