The papers presented in this volume illustrate the range of problems Quaternary stratigraphers need to take into account in order to establish the reliability of radiocarbon dates. The contributors deal with theoretical aspects of measuring and interpreting radiocarbon numbers, and apply these radiocarbon measurements to the solution of particular stratigraphic problems.
