The investigation of a bizarre murder in a small Scottish town rapidly enmeshes the trio in a complicated web of international intrigue and Caledonian skulduggery, as the action shifts to Sicily, New York and a remote Hebridean island, where the line between the good guys and the bad guys becomes increasingly blurred.

After many a Highland shenanigan, including a vital kilt-raising stunt by Andy Green, the mystery is finally solved ... or is it?
