To describe Jan Olofsson's life in the London of the "Swinging Sixties" is almost to invite cliches - drinks in the Revolution Club and Bag O'Nails, beers backstage at the Hammersmith Odeon with Johnny Cash and all night sessions with the Stones. It was from this base that he photographed the many stars to be featured in this book - including The Who, The Beatles, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ike and Tina Turner, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Sammy Davis Jnr and Tom Jones. A self-taught photographer, Jan took all his pictures on location, in television studios, in dressing rooms and at live shows - never in a studio. Many of these pictures have been recently rediscovered and are published here for the first time - making this book of appeal to photographers, music buffs and anyone interested in the 1960s.
